BIG dries

After a guide trip yesterday, I fished from 5 pm to dark. I only took out 1 rod rigged with a foam hopper. I worked 3 miles of river very quickly, and had a few fish on the hopper, until it was trashed. So since I was curious, and its Autumn, I pulled out the Moorish Mouse, to give a few casts. 25 minutes later I had landed 3 fish on the mouse. HAHAHAHA. So cool.

  3. Bigerrfish, any time, I'm all ears.

Dustin's Fly Box, In regards to the Moorish Mouse, I picked up the recipe a couple years ago from Fly Fisherman Mag. I can't remember exactly what month and year. Its basically a bunch of spun deer or elk hair, clipped on the bottom with the closed cell foam pulled over the top and created to act like a popper, and disrupt water. The tail is a piece of brown bunny strip, bare, with a tuft left at the end. Not a hard tie, but hard to look beautiful. Here is a link to tying it. http://www.flyfisherman.com/2011/06/30/morrish-mouse/

  4. Thank you very much!! Gonna give this a try. I have seen a gurgler version where the hair is clipped all around but like this one better. Thanks again for the follow up!

  5. Dustin's Fly Box, No worries, it'll take a few tries to get the hair the right length when its spun. Hope it rips some lips!
